#19 The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester
. Every once in a while it's possible to come across a novel that can only be described as amazing. This for me, was one of those.
Here I found a novel that never really slowed down and carried me along on the main character's unstoppable quest for vengeance. It was funny, sad, thought provoking, engaging and above all entertaining and supremely supremely imaginative.
The book is set at a time where humans are able jaunt (teleport) at will, have built spaceships and inhabited other planets.
It has one of the best stories of character development that I've come across and has many interesting characters with their own personalities and motivations. It also shows what a single person with enough determination, or obsession, is able to achieve.
My rating: 9.1/10
