I have an English slang tip for you today! The

word today is “hooked” which normally would mean curved like a hook. However the slang meaning is to be addicted to something and you can’t get enough.

For example: My brother sadly became hooked on smoking and he eventually got cancer.
Or
I am hooked on this new show that came out on Netflix and can’t stop watching it!

It is important to note that this can be used to reference both common and dangerous addictions.
