I was running low on my garlic onion oil so I took pictures of
the process.you take about 2 cups of oil, preferably peanut oil, then you add chopped green onion and garlic (I added star anise, sesame, and peanuts as well but they are optional). fry the ingredients until they are crispy and brown and strain the solid ingredients away from the oil.
The solid ingredients are a great addition to many meals or just on plain rice to add something nice. The oil is useful to add extra flavor to any savory meal.
