Many people message me asking
about the difference between the U.K., Britain, and England/Wales/Scotland/Northern Ireland/Ireland. This image should help!
An important point: the south of Ireland (the Republic of Ireland) is not part of the U.K.
The British Isles/Great Britain is the main landmass including Wales, England, and Scotland.
The U.K. includes those three countries along with Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.
It may not seem important, but it is 😆 If you go to Scotland, Wales, or Ireland and call it “England”, people won’t want to be friends with you - they may even be very upset with you!
