“Bite the bullet”
When you have to do something
unpleasant and get it over with, we will say, “I have to bite the bullet and do it.” In most cases, this will be doing a task that cannot be avoided anymore and must be done. Anytime you “bite the bullet,” you can no longer procrastinate. You have to wash the dishes because none are clean. The job application is due today. A difficult conversation with a family member must be said.
