A bit of a cultural lesson, rather than a language one
today
was the Super Bowl! The Super Bowl is where the "best two teams" in the NFL, the National Football League face off to see who is the champion, and who gets the Lombardi Trophy. Basically, it's the championship for American Football.
Today the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Florida) won, giving Tom Brady his 7th Super Bowl win, which is the most out of any NFL player EVER... And this was the first time it wasn't on his former team, the New England Patriots (from Boston, Massachusetts) who he spent all of his career with until this point.
Super Bowl Sunday is kind of like an unofficial American holiday. Almost everybody watches it, grocery stores will have sales on popular Super Bowl party foods like buffalo wings, chips, and soda, and lot's of exciting commercials come on during the Super Bowl for upcoming movies and TV shows.
American Football is by far the most popular sport in America, and the Super Bowl is the biggest game of the year.
