Idiom of the Day
“Flea market”
A flea market is a place where
people set up a booth, usually outside, to sell used items, discounted items, or handmade crafts. The origin of this idiom came from when very poor people sold anything they had of value out of desperation. The items were usually dirty and had fleas. Flea markets are now modern and well organized, usually taking place on weekends. “I’m going to the flea market this weekend to see if I can find a cheap pair of shoes.”
