@Kieran you wrong. The USSR had anti-alcohol campaigns from 1985 to 1990. Link https://ru.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Антиалкогольные_кампании_в_СССР

Definitely one of the best TV shows of recent years. I have not experienced such emotions from viewing for a long time, I recommend everyone to see it. Perhaps there are inaccuracies in it, but everything is very close to reality (more then 85% I guess). The series serves only as a reference point for further acquaintance with the tragedy, Google to help

@Katerina people drank vodka not because they are Russian, but because it helps from radiation, a little

@Дима_ nuclear reactors are much safer these days. It's nearly impossible for a repeat of Chernobyl with the new safety measures they've put in place.

@Kieran yeah, sure...no, wait a minute, what about fucusima, there are always some factors that people didn't see, but because of them it could go wrong, such as cataclysms and men factor aka someone screwed up, etc
  • Kieran 2019.06.04 14:40

    EN
    CN

@Tequila Sunset you're right. Natura disasters are always a factor, but human error or technical malfunction have decreased. Nuclear power will always be dangerous though 😔
  • yura 2019.06.04 14:49

@Tequila Sunset fukushima wasn't much of a disaster, the wrist thing about it is that it's location would have to be abandoned for probably thousands of years, since we don't know yet how to deal with elephant's feet
  • Tequila Sunset 2019.06.04 14:50

    RU

@Kieran yeah, and I'm afraid of our nuclear reactor as much as @Дима_ 'cause knowing our people and how they perform at work, I can see that we could have another chernobyl here, and we even don't need that energy, we already have enough and even do sale it, so obviously someone get paid to build it, I'd say our president

@Лилия I’m afraid the events on this show aren’t accurate. How can I watch a show made by Americans on an event that happened in the USSR?
  • Kirill 2019.06.05 05:30

    RU
    EN

@I was here Actually, someone who is not involved usually is more accurate. There are many interviews with people who was there during outbreak they say that serial is very close to reality. And I don't think that russians film company (most of them) are interested in true or art, they think only about profit. If they said something bad about USSR they wouldn't get anything money from government or worse..

@Tequila Sunset yeah.. it was like 3 chernobyls, just very well contained due to different type of reactor and good amount of safety measures

I have finished watching it yesterday. I felt upset, almost depressed after watching it. It's absolutely horrifying. I live less than 1000 km from there. The quantity of people especially children who get ill from leucemia is greatly increasing even nowadays.
