    @heygirl 1) “for”: use for when you want to express that a specific thing or action is directed towards a noun. 2) “in”: use when you want to describe the location of something. “In” is basically short for “inside” 3) “on” and “at”: these basically words that describe the location of a certain thing. You can find examples everywhere

    Well,my problem is that,even though i have no problem in understanding and writing the language,the moment i try to speak my mouth shuts tightly like it is sewed.Do you have any recommendations for me ? Btw my accent doesn't help either

    @Miss.Kara use “present perfect” to describe an event that already happened and is relevant to something you are describing in the present Use “past perfect” when you are talking about a completed action in the past, in order to better express another past event

    @Çağrı trust me when I say this: you can’t be afraid to make mistakes. No person in the history of earth has learned a language without making mistakes. The best advice I can give you is to learn a lot of verbs. If you know a lot of verbs, you can describe almost anything you want. This makes sense because we can’t have sentences without verbs!

    @Violetta well English is my native language haha, so Russian is more difficult. But I learned Spanish before I started learning Russian; I think Russian is a lot harder than Spanish

    @Violetta I understand there is no equivalent of gerund in Russian 😂 but it is actually super simple!!! Gerund (-ing verbs) simply describes a verb/action that is in progress. Think about this example: “I am eating dinner” — “I was eating dinner” — “I had been eating dinner when the dog barked” —-> notice how the eating is in progress and unfinished. That is the essence of gerund

    @Andrea ”should” can be 2 things: it can be used as a recommendation to a person —> “you should go to the store because we need more coffee” It can also be used as a word that expresses whether or not a person needs to do a certain thing —> “maybe I should go to the gym because I ate ice cream” — “I don’t think you should you jump off that ledge. You will hurt yourself”

    @Violetta not necessarily. If I say, “you eat bread every day”, that is different from the gerund.

    @Rafael almost. You can say this in 2 ways: 1) I finished eating lunch 2) I finished my lunch/I finished lunch

    @Efsun sure! We use “Whether” when we are expressing a doubt or a choice between different outcomes/scenarios “I don’t know whether it will rain or snow today” “She asked me whether I would prefer to cook at home or eat in a restaurant”

    @Efsun a little. “I don’t care” is a stronger way of saying “I don’t mind” Think like this: “I don’t mind” is the kind version, “I don’t care” is the less kind version

    @Rafael technically, yes that is incorrect. People will know what you are saying, but it will be incorrect (technically) and they will probably notice that it sounds strange hahaha

    @Andrea you can use shall or should in this example, but honestly “should” sounds more natural. We don’t use “shall” very often. It is a pretty formal word

    @Andrea if somebody asks you something with “should” in the question, we usually answer with a “should” in our response “Should we go to the park? The weather is bad” “The weather is definitely bad. We should not go today.”

    Doesn't gerund function as a noun, as in 'the eating continued in silence'? And i'd say the -ing form in 'I'm eating' is present participle. Doesn't really matter for language practice, though. My question is, is there any great source of info on punctuation?
