Today is Boxing Day in the UK!

'The name comes from a time

when the rich used to box up gifts to give to the poor.

Boxing Day was traditionally a day off for servants, and the day when they received a special Christmas box from their masters.

The servants would also go home on Boxing Day to give Christmas boxes to their families.'

We don't actually do anything for Boxing Day, but it's a national holiday so everyone gets the day off work 😊

Thank you for sharing the English culture. Christmas is popular in Japan but Boxing Day isn’t. We don’t have any similar national holidays here.

@isocchi You're welcome! I've not heard of any other country that celebrates a similar holiday to Boxing Day. For us it's now just a day to eat left over food from Christmas Day 😂

@Minho You're welcome! The only thing similar is letting people have the day off work to spend time with family. All we do is watch TV and eat leftovers from Christmas Day haha
