Idiom of the Day
“Up in the air”
If no set schedule or decision
has been made yet, you can say that your plans are “up in the air.” Maybe your boss is open to suggestions as to the next business move. Maybe you and a friend will meet together but haven’t decided yet where to eat lunch or where to go afterwards. In both cases, the plans are “up in the air.” “Once Covid is over, let’s go to the Caribbean! All of our plans will be up in the air while on vacation.”
