English Jokes (2):
Teacher: Today, we're going to talk about
the tenses. Now, if I say "I am beautiful," which tense is it? Student: Obviously it is the past tense.
So literally speaking ‘I am beautiful’ is present tense. But according to the student, he believes that the teacher is speaking of her past. Meaning that, in his eyes, the teacher current is not beautiful, but in the past, when she was younger, she might have been.
Present tense: I am beautiful
Past tense: I was beautiful
This is funny because the teacher isn't beautiful now, but maybe she was beautiful when she was younger.
