This is a Leyland Cypress tree in our
backyard. It has a densely

foliage made
up of scale-like needles, which are soft to touch. It is a beautiful tree and I love it. My husband said that it is dying as shown on the third photo. It saddens me that my favorite
tree is dying.😞

My dog and I had a nice walk together this morning ...1,185 steps. 👍

Hi Beth😊 Hmmm🤔 Your favorite tree is ...😔 My brother-in-law runs a landscaping business, so I'll ask him about it🌲

That’s a shame 🥺. The tree is so big and beautiful . Why don’t you plant a young Layland Cypress near the tree?

@かな吉Kana kichi When we bought the house 16 years ago, the tree was very small. Last night I was reading on how to take care of this tree. When the tree is young, pruning is essential but we never pruned it. Also it may have been attacked by a fungus. The tree is around 20 years old. Please let me know if the tree can still be saved. 🙏

Good morning, Beth. ☺️🙋🏽‍♂️ I’m sure Gary can’t wait to get in and relax from all those steps. 😅 The tree looks so beautiful and very Christmassy. 😆 I do hope it stays with you a few more years to come.

@Miya We may consider buying another Leyland Cypress or a cherry blossom tree would be nice. 🌸 💕

@.. Good afternoon Ike! Yea, Gary was exhausted from the LONG walk.😉🤣 Actually, it is a Christmas tree. 🎄 I like this tree because it provides semi privacy from the neighbors and shade from the hot sun.

@Beth Tree is a living thing and all living things will come and go. I watch YouTube « Garden Answer » to learn gardening.

@mihae The third picture is from a different side, it’s sparse...not as full. If you saw it in person, you can see the difference.
