Many of you know that I work as a biologist and count migrating

raptors. Today is the last day of the fall hawk watching season so it is the final day I will be on the hill collecting data. It is always bittersweet when the season ends but I’m sure many friends will visit me today. I will stay in Delaware a few more weeks to write the season report then I will return home to Pennsylvania. In the spring I will be in New York State to count the raptors as they migrate back north.

    @Soaring bird I use binoculars and a spotting scope to spot and identify the birds and a camera to photograph them. I use the clickers (photo 5) to keep track of how many of each species I see every hour then I enter that data into a smartphone app.

    It's really an interesting and meaningful job and I don't think that in China there is any agency or association that is responsible for such a task.
