when vs. if
“When” is used to refer to something in the future
. 1. When I go to the movies tomorrow, I’ll buy popcorn.
2. When we go shopping, I’ll buy it for you.
“If” refers to something that is possible.
1. If we go to the movies, I’ll buy you popcorn.
2. If we go shopping, I’ll buy it for you.
Think of it like this!
When you use “if” you’re not sure.
When you use “when” you’re sure or certain!
