There are two types of questions

you can make in English:

▪️Yes or No Questions
▪️Information questions

For example:

▪️Are you in the cafeteria?
▪️Yes, I am

Information questions require more than a yes or no.

▪️Where are you?
▪️I am in the cafeteria

These are some common questions with the present continuous

▪️Are you working today?
▪️Yes, I am
▪️Are you taking a break?
▪️No, I am not

Those are some questions with the simple past

▪️Did you finish the project?
▪️Yes, I did
