Hello everyone!
My English tip for today is on the usage of
the word “period” at the end of a sentence. English speakers use this to add emphasis to what they’ve just said. Meaning -what they have said is final- no room for discussion or argument. Their statement is firm. For example:
If you don’t turn in your last assignment for the class, you will fail the course period.
Or
The news media doesn’t care about being honest, it just writes stories to make money period.
I hope you found this helpful!
Thanks guys!
