Hi everyone! I plan on teaching English as a second language

someday very soon! For those of you who have taken English courses at your University, could you please share some things that you liked about your professors instruction? Like, what helped you to learn and acquire English? Did anything specific spark your interest? Was it fun learning English?

English class in Japan hasn’t to teach that speaking English now. So I want you to give useful phrases if you were my teacher.

1 pronunciation and intonation. like stress, links, loss of voice(You can train your students via retell some simple stories. ) 2 useful frases in daily life, like greetings, topics 3The culture and slang of your country 4 explain some common mistakes made by English learners. 5 recommend some classic movies and TV series. You can teach them how to appreciate lines in a movie. 😁😁😁

@Rian oh wow that’s amazing! And I totally understand what you mean about “text book English”.. it seems unnatural and can be awkward to use it with native English speakers. Definitely something think about. Thank you for sharing that with me!

When i moved to US and was taking ESL and LA(language assistant) classes, i really enjoyed it when the teacher would give us assignments talking about our own culture. I enjoyed sharing my culture and learning other cultures. Good luck teaching!
