Storytime: My best achievement of 2019 was reaching my reading
goal of 52 books. This is much more than I have ever done before, however, I found it quite challenging because I wasted a lot of my time doing things I should not have been doing and often getting distracted. The result was that I often had times when I was cramming in a lot of reading. For example, I finished 14 books in December which meant that I didn't do much else that month.
For 2020 I want to achieve a greater balance in my reading and have it as an accompaniment to the rest of the things in my life. I will strive to manage it well and not fall behind. My best tip for reading is to be consistent and do it, even if its a little, everyday.
Also, here are my best books of 2019:
Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy.
Outer Dark by Cormac McCarthy.
The Gourmet Club by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki.
Marmion by Walter Scott.
The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester.
No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai.
Piercing by Ryū Murakami.
